Service Description

Step into the timeless craft of stained glass with this beautifully curated introduction to traditional lead came work. This immersive course is delivered across two days, held in our purpose built atelier. We offer a relaxed yet enriching learning experience. A light lunch is also included on both days. All materials are carefully provided for you. Throughout the course, you will be guided through the heritage techniques of lead came work, the composition, stretching lead, cutting lead to fit snuggly around your glass, the soldering, along with the making and application of stained glass cement to waterproof your piece. This bit is very mucky, so please wear your old clothes! You will be invited to create a 20cm by 20cm geometric design, and choose from a curated palette of richly coloured and textured glass, enabling you to create a piece that feels truly personal to you. A chain enables you to hang your masterpiece in a sunny spot at home. Each day begins at 10:00am and draws to a close at 4pm, allowing ample time to enjoy the process at a comfortable pace. We have an allowed enough time to go at your own pace. Due to the specialist materials used, this workshop is not suitable for pregnant ladies. For your comfort and safety, we kindly ask that participants wear trainers or closed-toe footwear. To preserve the intimate, atelier-style atmosphere, class sizes are limited to 4 participants.
